In Realm of the Mad God, sounds are played when players shoot or otherwise interact with the game, when a player or enemy takes damage, and as ambiance. Music, sound effects, and weapon sounds each have an on/off toggle and volume slider in the Options menu.

The original sounds were added in Build 62 and removed in Build 116.1. To re-add them into the game, download the MP3 archive and follow the linked guide.

Patch Description
Build 62 Sound effects added. They are sourced from the Assemblee competition entries of John Nesky, feeblethemighty, BigLon, and boomlinde.
Build 65 Music added; M toggles music. The track used is The Sorcerer's Tower, entered in Assemblee by Craig Stern.
Build 71 N toggles all sound.
Build 72 There is a sound effect and an explosion on monster death.
Build 106 B toggles weapon sounds.
Build 109.1 Sound toggle added to title screen.
Build 115 Sound toggle moved to new Options screen.
Build 116.1 The original sound effects are replaced. The many new sounds are by Jonathan Fehr.
Release 27.4 Added volume sliders in Options.
